Le monde célèbre le 20 juin 2022 la journée mondiale des réfugiés alors que la crise des réfugiés qui sévit en Afrique depuis le processus de décolonisation semble avoir atteint plus que jamais son paroxysme, accroissant davantage la dépendance du continent envers une aide humanitaire sur-sollicitée, alors que le principe de la solidarité internationale semble trouver peu d’écho dans l’actuelle conjoncture internationale, bien que l’Afrique dispose d’une architecture conventionnelle et institutionnelle relative à la protection des réfugiés bien élaborée.
