Simone Tagliapietra, an Italian citizen, joined Bruegel in April 2015. He is also Senior Researcher at the Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei. He is an expert in international energy and climate issues, with a record of numerous publications covering the European energy markets, the EU energy and climate policy and the Euro-Mediterranean energy relations, with a particular focus on Turkey. Among other things, he published the volumes "The Globalization of Natural Gas Markets. New Challenges and Opportunities for Europe" and “The Geoeconomics of Sovereign Wealth Funds and Renewable Energy”.
