Tunisie : la démocratie à l’épreuve de la crise de la IIème République

La crise de la IIème République tunisienne exacerbe l’incapacité des institutions de représentation démocratique à prendre en compte les demandes socio-économiques populaires, à l’origine de la « révolution de 2011 ». Conçue dans l’objectif de rompre avec l’ancien régime bénalien, la IIème République a permis de doter la Tunisie des infrastructures politiques et institutionnelles nécessaires, lui permettant d’encadrer ses libertés, tout en définissant son régime démocratique. Or, l’incapacité de la IIème République à traduire la démocratie en progrès social a accru la défiance citoyenne envers les institutions, précipitant le coup de force présidentiel du 25 juillet 2019, qui bascula la Tunisie d’une démocratie en crise vers un régime d’exception. Aujourd’hui, alors qu’une transition vers la IIIème République parait plus que jamais envisageable, l’avenir de la IIème République se trouve à la croisée des chemins.
