Estimates by UNESCO place 127 landmarks in Ukraine as damaged, including 11 museums, 54 religious buildings, and 15 monuments. The situation is alarming and the toll is considerably getting higher for Ukraine. Is depriving Ukraine from its cultural heritage a new Russian strategy? What can international organizations do concretely? Are economic sanctions still the answer here? Our columnist and expert Helmut Sorge shares with us his insights on the subject.
