Docteur en géographie de l'Institut Français de géopolitique (université Paris 8), Benjamin Augé est par ailleurs le rédacteur en chef de la lettre d'informations Africa Energy Intelligence (groupe Indigo Publications). Il enseigne la géopolitique du pétrole et du gaz en Afrique à l'Université de Nouakchott en Mauritanie et à l'Instituto Nacional de Relacoes Internationais (ISRI) au Mozambique. Il est également intervenant à l'Ecole de Guerre, Sciences-Po Paris ainsi qu'à l'Ecole nationale d'administration (ENA). Ses recherches se focalisent sur la gouvernance des secteurs pétrolier, gazier et électrique dans les pays africains.
