Taxe carbone, permis d’émission, mécanisme d’ajustement aux frontières... de quoi parle-t-on justement ?

La lutte contre les émissions de carbone fait appel à deux familles d’instruments : la réglementation, qui consiste à imposer des normes obligatoires lorsque cela est possible et les incitations notamment économiques : c’est-à-dire la tarification carbone ou le « carbon pricing ». Ces dernières sont jugées plus efficaces économiquement mais elles se répartissent elles-mêmes en différentes catégories : taxe carbone, permis d’émission, mécanisme d’ajustement aux frontières. Ces notions sont souvent confondues, ce qui nuit à la compréhension des enjeux. Parmi ces enjeux, l’acceptation par les populations des différents est un aspect de plus en plus crucial. Ce podcast a pour but de clarifier ces notions essentielles afin de préparer le continent africain aux futurs débats climatiques.
