Africa Economic Symposium (AES) 2026: Call for Volunteers 

The Policy Center for the New South is seeking volunteers to provide support at the 4thedition of the Africa Economic Symposium, which will take place in Rabat on July 13th - 14th, 2026, under the theme “Turning Transitions into Growth”. Since its inception, the AES has steadily grown into a valued platform for continental economic dialogue, where global perspectives meet African realities and where rigorous analysis informs policy. Now in its 4th edition, the Symposium has more than doubled its reach, expanding its scope and impact by bringing together over 200 prominent economists, policymakers, and academics from 40 nationalities across Africa and beyond.  

Description of tasks 

The Policy Center for the New South offers the opportunity for highly motivated students/young professionals to be an integral part of the success of the AES and get first-hand experience of high-level event organization on an operational level. Volunteers will work closely with the Policy Center’s staff in the run-up to the event and assist in a wide array of logistical, production, communication, and media tasks. Attendance at orientation and team meetings is mandatory. Volunteers will also have the opportunity to participate in parts of the official program.  

Qualifications 

Fluency in English and preferably French or Arabic; Excellent communication skills; Interest in economic issues in Africa; Motivation to work flexible hours and handle logistical and administrative work; Experience in event management is desirable but not essential.  

Volunteers are expected to be punctual, reliable, and professional throughout the duration of the conference and preparations.
