The Future of Japan-Africa Relations: Challenges and Prospects

The Policy Center for the New South is organizing an Open Discussion on Japan's diplomacy towards Africa, its role as a major player on the international stage, and the potential for cooperation between Japan and Morocco on the continent.
Professor Sadaharu Kataoka, an expert in African Politics and Public Diplomacy, will provide insights into the challenges and prospects that lie ahead in the relationship between Japan and Africa.
We will explore the current security situation in Africa and the major actors involved, as well as Japan's contributions to supporting African countries in strengthening their security and stability at both national and regional levels.
Additionally, we will discuss the bilateral and multilateral relations between Japan and Morocco, and the possibility of triangular cooperation in African countries.
