AU Policy Conference

Dr. Karim El Aynaoui, Executive President of the Policy Center for the New South, is speaking at the Panel on “African Stakeholders as Watchdogs of Democratic Governance, Ownership and Leadership of the Nexus” in the AU Policy conference held under the theme “Promoting the Peace, Security, & Development Nexus: The Promise of Regional Integration”.

The conference will offer a unique opportunity for the defense and development policy communities to exchange on the practical implementation of this nexus. The policy conference will also be an occasion to reaffirm the relevance and critical role of investment and development finance in supporting Africa's peace and security efforts. The policy conference will provide for an opportunity to launch new initiatives that seek to foster the effective delivery of the triple nexus. A final declaration, the Tangier Declaration, will be deliberated with a view of outlining the key outcomes of the three-day discussions. The Tangier Declaration will charter a path for enhanced engagement in delivering on the triple nexus while promoting regional integration.

This event is taking place from the 25th to the 27th October in Tangier, Morocco.

Karim El Aynaoui
Executive President
Karim El Aynaoui is Executive President of the Policy Center for the New South. He is also Executive Vice-President of Mohammed VI Polytechnic University and Dean of its Humanities, Economics and Social Sciences Cluster.   Karim El Aynaoui is an economist. From 2005 to 2012, he worked at the Central Bank of Morocco where he held the position of Director of Economics, Statistics, and International Relations. At the Central Bank of Morocco, he was in charge of the Research Department and equally a member of the Governor’s Cabinet.
