African Maritime Symposium: Call for Volunteers

The Policy Center for the New South (PCNS) is seeking volunteers to support the organization of the 3rd edition of the African Maritime Symposium (AMS), which will take place in Rabat on May 13th.
The 3rd edition of the African Maritime Symposium (AMS), will be held under the theme: “Mers d’Afrique: enjeux stratégiques dans un monde hyperconnecté et hyperconflictuel.” This edition aims to analyze the security, economic, and geopolitical dynamics shaping Africa’s maritime spaces.
The conference will bring together experts, academics, policymakers, and practitioners from across Africa and internationally and it will be structured around four thematic panels and a high-level maritime conversation, addressing key strategic priorities for the continent.

Description of tasks
PCNS offers highly motivated students and young professionals the opportunity to play a key role in the success of the conference, gaining first-hand experience in the operational aspects of a high-level global policy dialogue. Volunteers will work closely with the PCNS staff in the lead-up to the event and contribute to a wide range of tasks, including logistics, production, communications, and media.

Qualifications
African Maritime Symposium volunteers should demonstrate fluency in English, ideally with additional proficiency in French and Arabic, and possess strong communication skills. An interest in maritime affairs, geopolitics, and global development landscape is preferable, alongside a readiness to work flexible hours to support logistical tasks. Experience in event management is an asset but not required. Volunteers are expected to uphold the conference's standards of punctuality, reliability, respect and professionalism throughout the event.
