African Economic Symposium (AES) 2025: Call for Volunteers
The Policy Center for the New South is seeking volunteers to provide support at the 3rd edition of the African Economic Symposium, which will take place in Rabat on July 14th – 15th,2025, under the theme “Bold Moves amid Global Shifts”. The Africa Economic Symposium aspires to be a continent-wide annual gathering of prominent economists, policymakers, and academics to bring together global and continental perspectives on macroeconomic management challenges and selected structural issues that shape the future of Africa's economic development.
Description of tasks
The Policy Center for the New South offers the opportunity for highly motivated students/young professionals to be an integral part of the success of the AES and get first-hand experience of high-level event organization on an operational level. Volunteers will work closely with the Policy Center’s staff in the run-up to the event and assist in a wide array of logistical, production, communication, and media tasks. Attendance at orientation and team meetings is mandatory. Volunteers will also have the opportunity to participate in parts of the official program.
As global dynamics shift rapidly, from geopolitical tensions to economic fragmentation, African countries are looking for discussion platforms and opportunities. The Africa Economic Symposium 2025, hosted by the Policy Center for the New South, will bring together experts, policymakers, and researchers to discuss how bold and forward-looking strategies can help the continent navigate global disruption, close gaps, and position itself as the engine of growth.
We are looking for motivated and reliable volunteers to support the organization of this high-level event. Volunteering at AES 2025 is an opportunity to engage with key economic thinkers, and contribute to the dialogues.
Qualifications
Fluency in English and preferably French or Arabic; Excellent communication skills; Interest in economic issues in Africa; Motivation to work flexible hours and handle logistical and administrative work; Experience in event management is desirable but not essential.
Volunteers are expected to be punctual, reliable, and professional throughout the duration of the conference and preparations.
