David Lawless is an environmental scientist and policy-maker serving as a senior advisor in the Government of Canada. His work focusses on creating climate policies to ensure a net-zero future. Prior to joining government, David worked as innovation specialist at MaRS, Canada’s largest innovation centre, where he designed a cleantech device that empowers citizens to conserve energy. During his career, David served as a Canadian representative for the British Council at the United Nations and worked at four national parks across the country as a scientist, policy advisor, and filmmaker. He holds a Master of Science in Environmental Science from the University of Oxford and a Master of Philosophy from the University of Cambridge where he studied international environmental policy.
