Mehmet Öğütçü is a global authority on energy, climate change, geopolitics, andinvestment. He chairs the London-based Global Resources Partnership,specializing in strategic investments in natural resources and energy. He isalso the founding president of The Bosphorus Energy Club (Istanbul) and TheLondon Energy Club, which convene top leaders in energy, policy, andinvestment. Mehmet serves on the boards of YEO Energy and Technology Group andadvises BGN International (Dubai) and Karpowership (Istanbul). He chairs theadvisory board of the Middle East Institute (Washington, D.C.) and is aprominent voice in international energy policy and strategy. His careerincludes advising Turkish Prime Minister Turgut Özal on energy diplomacy andeconomic policy, as well as diplomatic posts in Beijing, Brussels, and Paris.At the International Energy Agency (Paris), he led the Asia-Pacific and LatinAmerica division, focusing on energy security, green energy, and infrastructureresilience. At the OECD (Paris), Mehmet headed global investment outreach, andat British Gas (London), he oversaw government relations and businessdevelopment. Mehmet has held board roles with Genel Energy (London), ŞişecamHolding (Istanbul), and Yaşar Holding (Izmir), offering expertise ingovernance, strategy, and risk management. As chief strategist for the AsianDevelopment Bank (Manila), he played a key role in developing the 2030 energyand infrastructure vision for the Asia-Pacific region. Fluent in Turkish,English, French, and Chinese, Mehmet is a prolific author and sought-afterspeaker. He recently joined a community education charity as a trustee, aimingto inspire and support young people worldwide.
