Dr. Gerhard WAHLERS, (born November 22, 1959 in Münster/Germany), has been Deputy Secretary General of the Konrad-Adenauer Stiftung since 2007 and Head of the International Division since 2003. Dr. WAHLERS has a doctorate in philosophy and studied history, sociology, economics and political science. He is the author and editor of numerous contributions and publications on international politics as well as German and European foreign, security and development policy. Dr. Gerhard WAHLERS joined the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) in 1990 as head of the division for international cooperation. Prior to that, WAHLERS headed the KAS offices in the USA (1997-2003) and Israel (1994-1997). Under his leadership, the Foundation's international work has grown to include over 100 offices worldwide.
