Florian Ermacora
Head of the North Africa Unit, EU Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations

Florian Ermacora currently holds the position of Head of the North Africa Unit at the Directorate-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations of the European Commission. He has been working as an official of the European Commission since 1996, starting at the Directorate General (DG) for Environment. In previous positions, he served as Head of the Internal Energy Market Unit and Head of the Unit for Communication & Interinstitutional relations in DG Energy as well as Assistant of Philip Lowe, the Director-General of DG Energy. Other experience includes his work in DG Internal Market und DG Transport and Energy, on issues of public procurement policy and the Third Energy Package respectively. He studied law at the Universities of Innsbruck, Vienna and Paris and completed his bar exams in Vienna in 2003. He has published various articles and books on European environmental and economic law.
