Dawud Ansari serves as a researcher and policy advisor at the prestigious German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP Berlin). Here, he actively engages with decision-makers on geopolitics of hydrogen, EU-GCC relations, and energy issues in the Arab world. He is a leading interdisciplinary expert in energy, geopolitics, sustainable development, foresight, and political economy and with his in-depth knowledge of energy markets and policies, particularly oil and hydrogen, offers critical insights into state-society-economy dynamics in resource-rich nations. His work focusses on the Arab World, especially the GCC and Yemen, as well as Europe and global issues. His publications appear in top-tier journals and policy platforms and build on both quantitative (numerical modelling, econometrics, machine learning) and qualitative (strategic foresight, policy analysis) methods. As an adjunct lecturer, he imparts his knowledge to the next generation of MBA, MSc, and PhD students. As an NGO director, his projects, especially in complex regions like Yemen, emphasize his deep commitment and connection to on-ground realities.
