Dawit Yohannes
Project Manager and Senior Researcher, Training for Peace, Institute for Security Studies

Dawit Yohannes (PhD) is a Senior Researcher and Project Manager for the Training for Peace Programme at the Institute for Security Studies (ISS). He has worked as a researcher, academic coordinator, and programme manager for various organisations, including the ISS, the University of Leipzig, and Addis Ababa University.

Dawit's current research focuses on the conflict prevention, peacebuilding, and peace support operations roles of the African Union and national dialogue and reconciliation processes in the Horn of Africa. He is a contributing author to three volumes of the Yearbook on the African Union, focusing on the peace and security roles of the AU in 2020, 2021, and 2022.

Dawit has a PhD in Global Studies from the joint PhD programme of the University of Leipzig and Addis Ababa University. He holds a joint MA in Global Studies from the University of Leipzig and the University of Vienna and a BA in Political Science and International Relations from Addis Ababa University.
