Soil for Society Network
From
IWRA Congress in China
Rabi H. Mohtar, Senior Fellow at Policy Center for the New South, will be speaking at the Panel on "Soil for Society Network" during the IWRA Congress in China.
The session aims to introduce an ambitious initiative, the Soil for Society Network, which has been created to tackle critical global challenges related to climate change mitigation, water conservation, and food security through sustainable soil management. The central objective is to form a "network of networks" that amplifies ongoing efforts and resources focused on soil resilience. This new collaborative platform is designed to unite scholars, policymakers, and practitioners from various disciplines and sectors, including those from marginalized communities who are most closely tied to the land. Through transdisciplinary scientific collaboration, the network aims to advance sustainable soil practices across managed lands and ecosystems. Overall, the Soil for Society Network endeavors to elevate the discourse on resilient soil systems, positioning them as a cornerstone in achieving broader water, food, climate, and ecosystem security.
