Akram Zaoui is invited to participate in the 3rd annual think tanks roundtable organized by TRENDS Research & Advisory to discuss “The Role of Think Tanks in the Shaping of Policies: Strategies for Translating Research into Practiceon September 7th, 2022.

 

The roundtable aims to:

- Foster and promote collaboration between the participating institutions in analyzing and evaluating the real-world impact and influence of think-tanks on public policy and governance.

- Discuss and explore the way forward for think-tanks in translating their ideas into action.

- Identify and propose the most optimal strategies for building the capacity and advancing the efficacy of think-tanks in the public policy arena.

 

The Round-Table endeavors to provide insights and recommendations on the following themes:

- Furthering the Role and Importance in Public Policymaking

- Increasing the Value and Contribution to Addressing National, Regional, and Global Issues

- Enhancing the Relevance and Effectiveness Towards Policies in Times of Unpredictable Crisis

- Meeting the Challenges and Delivering Solutions Amid Threats Facing the World

- Optimizing the Potential for Creative Thinking and Policy Innovation

Speakers
Akram Zaoui
Chargé de Mission to the Executive President
Akram Zaoui is a Senior International Relations Specialist and Chargé de Mission to the Executive President at the Policy Center for the New South (PCNS). Prior to this, he was Manager of Research Support and the Public Policy Lab at the PCNS. His main area of interest is the geopolitical economy of the Extended Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. From 2018 to 2020, Zaoui was the coordinator of a network of 70+ civil society organizations (CSOs) across France, working with foundations, government, local communities, and the private sector. Zaoui holds a dual degree in corporate and public management from HEC Paris and Sciences Po, as well as a bachelor's degree (licence) in history from Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne.
