The Policy Center for the New South is organizing an online event titled "The Role of Africa in Shaping the Future of the Transatlantic Relationship" in collaboration with Harvard W3D: Women in Defense, Diplomacy, and Development & Harvard Kennedy New England Alumni Association (HKS)This webinar will take place on Thursday, May 4th 2023 starting at 1 PM Eastern Time (ET)/ 5 PM Morocco Time (UTC+1).

This event aims to foster discussions and exchange of ideas on the role of Africa in shaping the future of the transatlantic relationship. The transatlantic region traditionally referred to North America and Europe, but Africa's growing importance due to its young population, natural resources, and economic potential has made it a crucial participant. The objective of this webinar is also to provide diverse insights on the opportunities and challenges of enhancing transatlantic relations through the participation of multiple experts.

Strengthening transatlantic relations between Africa and the rest of the region requires a focus on trade and investment, security, energy, climate change, and diplomacy.
