Morocco Launch of the Economic Report on Africa (ERA) 2025
From

By Invitation
The Economic Report on Africa (ERA) is a flagship publication of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), providing in-depth analysis of key economic trends, challenges, and policy recommendations to foster sustainable and inclusive growth across the continent. The report serves as a critical tool for policymakers, researchers, and stakeholders in shaping evidence-based policies that drive economic transformation.
This year’s edition of the ERA report, titled “Advancing the Implementation of the Agreement Establishing the African Continental Free Trade Area: Proposing Transformative Strategic Actions” sheds light on the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) so far, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and steps needed to accelerate its implementation.
The AfCFTA is a pivotal opportunity for Africa to boost intra-African trade, diversify economies, and enhance industrialization. This agreement has the potential to increase intra-African trade by 45 per cent by 2045, with significant gains in manufacturing, agro-processing, and services.
In this context the ECA office for North Africa and the Policy Center for the New South are organizing the launch of the ERA report in Morocco. This event will provide a platform for key stakeholders to engage with the report’s findings, discuss its relevance to Morocco and the North African region, and explore actionable policy recommendations.
