The Policy Center for the New South (PCNS) is pleased to host a closed roundtable discussion on the presentation of the IMF Fiscal Analytical Chapter titled “Public Sentiment Matters: The Essence of Successful Energy Subsidies and Pension Reforms.”
The chapter explores how public sentiment shapes the success of subsidy and pension reforms, key to reducing fiscal vulnerabilities and promoting inclusive growth. Using innovative tools to measure reform acceptability, it highlights the role of communication, timing, and institutional trust. The discussion, held in English and under Chatham House Rules, will also delve into Morocco’s policy reforms in these areas.
