The role of central banks and the implications for financial actors in transition towards a low carbon economy

Afaf Zarkik, Research Assistant in Economics at the Policy center for the New South, will be speaking at a panel discussion with international experts during an event organized by the Istituto Affari Internazionali (IAI). This conference comes at the conclusion of a collaborative research effort on climate considerations of financial institutions and central banks, crowned with a publication yet to appear.

As this topic is quite nascent, the goal of this conference is for each member of the task force to present the results of their findings on current initiatives and good practices at both national and international level, as well as exploring future developments on how financial institutions and central banks can more efficiently include climate and ESG criteria in their business strategies.

This event is taking place in IAI’s headquarters in Rome, Italy.
