The analysis of international relations is facing many challenges because of the complexity of the world realities. Post USSR era have seen the emergence two forces; the first is carried by major emerging countries who dispute the power to Westerners; the second corresponds to the rise of the asymmetric threat. These two forces operate in an international system increasingly globalized, less predictable and geo-strategically oriented towards a new but yet undefined multi-polarity. The field of contemporary international Relations therefore derives its complexity from the plurality of views, variables, actors involved and, above all, the non-linearity of the causal chains between the variables.
