The aim of the course is to offer a broad overview of commodity markets. This course will cover both the physical and financial commodity markets, their actual functioning, and some of the analytical tools needed to effectively understand both markets. The overall emphasis is on the determinants of commodity prices as well as the interactions between physical and financial commodity markets.

Objectives :

• The workings of physical and financial commodity markets;
• How to model spot, futures and forwards prices;
• How to model price volatility;
• Interaction between physical and commodity markets.
