Expert Views and Discussion – Macroeconomic Impacts of the Expected Increase in Public Infrastructure Investment
From

This session is part of the biannual dialogue between the Policy Center for the New South and the International Monetary Fund, which provides a platform for analytical exchanges on key macroeconomic and fiscal issues shaping the Moroccan economy. In this context, the IMF team will present new analytical work developed in the framework of the Article IV consultation on the macroeconomic impacts of the expected increase in public infrastructure investment, drawing on both structural modeling and econometric analysis, followed by discussion. Building on this exchange, PCNS experts will provide evidence-based insights on fiscal multipliers and output gap dynamics in Morocco. This session will therefore contribute to a deeper understanding of fiscal transmission mechanisms, cyclical positioning, and the macroeconomic implications of public investment.
