Challenges for resilient economies in the face of climate
From
Ahmed Ouhnini, Economist at Policy Center for the New South, is featured speaker for the session titled “Challenges for Resilient Economies in the Face of Climate Change” of the conference “Geopolitics and Climate Change in the Middle East and North Africa: Pathways for Regional Security and Stability”. This conference is organized by the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung’s Regional Program Energy Security and Climate Change Middle East and North Africa (KAS-REMENA).
This closed-door workshop on “Geopolitics of Climate Change in the Middle East and North Africa” will bring together security and climate experts in order to assess climate-related vulnerabilities and their implications for security and stability in the MENA region, to explore interconnections between climate change, resource scarcity, food security, migration, and energy dynamics, and to discuss necessary adaptations in the security approaches of states, regional and international actors. Based on these discussions, the workshop aims to identify key aspects for climate-resilient pathways for regional security and stability.
The event is taking place in Casablanca, with Ahmed Ouhnini's segment scheduled from 11h00 to 12h30.
