Sabrine Emran, Economist, and Amal El Ouassif, International Relations Specialist, will both feature as speakers in the conference titled “ÁFRICA XXI”, jointly organized by the Friedrich Naumann Foundation (FNF) Madrid and the Institute for Promotion of Latin America and the Caribbean (IPDAL).

Sabrine Emran will speak online in the panel titled “Energy cooperation in the Mediterranean as a consequence of the war in Ukraine”, with a focus on the cooperation perspectives of countries from the Mediterranean in the context of shifting energy paradigms following the war in Ukraine.

Amal El Ouassif will speak online in the panel titled “Report Presentation – Climate change and Migration: Understanding factors, developing opportunities in the Sahel Zone, West Africa and the Maghreb”, in which she will present the main findings of her contribution to this report.

This event will take place on November 23, 2023, at the Universidade Europeia, Quinta do Bom Nome, Lisbon, Portugal.

Amal El Ouassif
International Relations Specialist
Amal El Ouassif is an International Relations Specialist  at the Policy Center for the New South. Prior to this, she worked as a program coordinator at the Westminster Foundation for Democracy and served as a consultant in development policies with the office of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in Morocco. She is also a former bluebook trainee in the Directorate General of Employment Social Affairs and Inclusion in the European Commission in Brussels. Amal has a Master of Art in EU’s International Relations and Diplomacy Studies, from the College of Europe in Bruges and a Master in Development Studies from UPMF-Grenoble. Her area of interest include Africa- Europe cooperation and migration. ...
Sabrine Emran
Economist
Sabrine Emran is a Finance graduate specializing in financial markets and commodities. She holds a Grande Ecole master’s degree in Management from IESEG School of Management and ISCAE Group, as well as a Specialized master’s degree in Financial Markets from Paris Dauphine University and ENSAE ParisTech. Sabrine Emran started her career in investment writing and product development in the asset management branches of insurance companies and investment banks in Paris, working mainly on alternative investment asset classes.
