The Policy Center for the New South is hosting an expert roundtable with Andreas Kraemer, focused on the topics of climate and energy sustainability. The event will discuss three key themes. The first presentation will cover the importance of businesses developing strategies to address climate change risks and opportunities. The second intervention will highlight the current state of green hydrogen in Morocco and the steps being taken towards its widespread adoption. Finally, the third speaker will discuss the potential of natural gas, as a transition fuel, in Morocco and the role of regional interconnectivity in expanding its usage, particularly in the context of Morocco's role as an energy hub for North Africa and Europe.

This expert roundtable aims to provide insights into the challenges and opportunities associated with climate and energy sustainability, and the various strategies being implemented to address them.

Economist, Policy Center for the New South
Ahmed Ouhnini is an Economist at the Policy Center for the New South. His research area covers agricultural economics, human and social development. Previously, he has worked as a researcher at the Paris School of Economics (PSE) and has also a record of working in consulting services in Morocco. Ahmed holds an engineering Diploma in Agriculture and Rural Development from the National School of Agriculture of Meknes and a Master’s Degree in Law, Economics and Management from the Paris 1 Pantheon Sorbonne Institute of Development. ...
Afaf Zarkik
Senior Economist
Afaf Zarkik is an economist at the Policy Center for the New South and a graduate in energy strategies from Ecole des Mines de Paris. Among her areas of research and reflection: energy commodities monitoring and energy transition and sustainable development policies analysis. Before joining the Policy Center, A. Zarkik was an analyst in oil and gas mergers and acquisitions, a venture capital analyst in a cleantech fund, and a senior analyst in asset management. Sabrine Emran
Economiste
Sabrine Emran is a Finance graduate specializing in financial markets and commodities. She holds a Grande Ecole master’s degree in Management from IESEG School of Management and ISCAE Group, as well as a Specialized master’s degree in Financial Markets from Paris Dauphine University and ENSAE ParisTech. Sabrine Emran started her career in investment writing and product development in the asset management branches of insurance companies and investment banks in Paris, working mainly on alternative investment asset classes.
