The African Peace and Security Annual Conference (APSACO) is a flagship convening of the Policy Center for the New South, alongside the Atlantic Dialogues and the Africa Economic Symposium. Held annually, APSACO brings together senior policymakers, security officials, military leaders, diplomats, and scholars for high-level strategic dialogue on Africa’s peace and security challenges.

Over two days, the Conference focuses on the structural drivers of conflict, evolving security dynamics, and the geopolitical forces shaping stability across the continent. Through rigorous and policy-oriented discussions, APSACO provides a space to confront perspectives, assess strategic choices, and engage with Africa’s security challenges in a complex international environment.

APSACO is closely articulated with the Annual Report on African Geopolitics (RAGA), which is officially presented on the eve of the Conference. Together, APSACO and the RAGA offer a coherent framework for understanding Africa’s security landscape and the geopolitical forces shaping its future.
