The Atlantic Dialogues Emerging Leaders (ADEL) program was an amazing experience for me. The program is an intergenerational dialogue between the current leaders and the emerging leaders. The workshops in the program, bonding activities with other ADELs who came from 21 other countries, networking with ambassadors, generals, former presidents and prime ministers was a one-of-a-kind experience for me.

There were ample moments of inspiration from the program for me, but one particular highlight was that after almost three years of Covid and no public gatherings, we all watched the Morocco versus France semi finals in Morocco–a room full of current and emerging leaders cheering for the first African team to reach semi-finals in the history of Football world cup. The close connection to humanity that I felt after the match was astonishingly breathtaking to me. Everyone in the room stood up cheering and shared a moment of collective appreciation for the young players. Irrespective of the beliefs, opinions, biases people generally hold, the game just brought fundamental human emotions out. I was stunned by the collective awe-inspiring feelings I was watching and experiencing.
