Noureddine Hamri is the founder of Turn Up the Light, a COP28 award- winning cleantech startup that builds interconnected energy communities through an open-source platform, a citizen-to-citizen energy credit market, and a hands-on toolkit enabling anyone to create their own small-scale renewable energy source. With a strong engineering background, Noureddine has led first-of-kind offshore projects worldwide — from offshore wind and green hydrogen to oil & gas and subsea cable infrastructures. He currently serves as an Offshore Electrical Systems Project Manager at Aventa, overseeing the design, fabrication, and installation of low-carbon offshore innovations. Drawing on this global expertise, he offers a unique perspective on cross-border energy systems and trading as key drivers of the net-zero transition. Recognized as a Global Future Energy Leader by the World Energy Council and an IRENA Youth Delegate, Noureddine champions a human-centered, grassroots approach to sustainability, shaping energy scenarios and outlooks for the MENA region.
