Maria Rotilu is the Founder and General Partner at Openseed VC, a venture capital firm investing as a first cheque partner in experienced operators launching technology companies across Europe and Africa. At Openseed VC alongside capital, she brings an operator network to support founders from zero to one. Prior to this she held leadership roles at global startups including Uber and Branch.co where she scaled operations to millions of customers and significant revenues. Her previous professional investor experience also includes Fund Manager of Octopus Ventures’ First Cheque Fund and Managing Director of the Oxford Seed Fund. An experienced day zero investor, she has backed more than 70+ startups and reviewed over 7,000+ early stage ventures across Europe and Africa. She holds an MBA from the University of Oxford, a BSc in Computer Science from Covenant University and is a Chartered Accountant with the ACCA in the United Kingdom.
