Kwezi Sogoni is Programme Manager for South Africa at the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom, based in Johannesburg. In this role, he leads civic programmes, designing and engaging civil society, academia, media, and climate change initiatives. He previously served as Director of Operations and Stakeholder Relations in the Executive Mayor’s Office at the City of Johannesburg, and as Assistant Director in the Office of the Chief Whip. His earlier career includes roles as a Parliamentary Researcher in South Africa’s parliament and Research Scholar at the South African Institute of International Affairs. A Mandela Washington Fellow, Kwezi holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Social Sciences (Honours) in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Cape Town.
