Based in Morocco since 2011, Jan Pieter Cools is currently CEO of Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy in Morocco. Prior to the merger of Siemens Wind Power and Gamesa in 2017, he was active in the Siemens Energy division as regional manager for the Mediterranean area in Siemens Wind
Power since 2008.
Before 2008, Mr. Cools was regional manager for Africa – Middle-East for Siemens Elasa in Spain and for Asia-Pacific in Singapore. He also held several management positions in the Telecommunications Division of the Siemens organization.
Besides, he worked as consultant for European Commission projects defining implementation scenarios for broadband telecommunications networks.
Born in 1960, Jan Pieter Cools studied economics and business science at University of Louvain, Belgium and graduated from University of Toronto in 1987 with a master degree in international business economics
