By Invitation
The High-Level Policy Workshop organized within the framework of the IDRC-funded project “Climate–Care Nexus: Adapting Care Systems to Climate and Migration Pressures in North and West Africa” is designed as a working and alignment meeting bringing together institutional partners, researchers, and technical experts involved in the project.
The workshop aims to establish a common understanding of the project’s analytical framework, research questions, and implementation strategy ahead of the launch of field activities in the four participating countries. Particular attention will be given to clarifying the conceptual approach to the care economy, including the definition and measurement of unpaid care work, and to examining how climate and migration pressures are incorporated into the research design.
The meeting will also provide an opportunity to review data availability, discuss survey instruments and methodological protocols, and ensure comparability across country contexts. By convening the core research team, national statistical institutions, international organizations, and academic experts, the workshop will facilitate technical exchange and strengthen the methodological foundations of the project.
The workshop therefore constitutes an important step in ensuring conceptual alignment, methodological consistency, and coordinated preparation for the implementation of research activities across participating countries, in line with IDRC standards.
