Le Policy Center for the New South organise une table ronde interne sur le thème “Carbon Pricing » le mercredi 30 mars 2022 à 15h00 GMT.

Les différents mécanismes de Carbon Pricing (taxe carbone, permis d’émission et mécanisme d’ajustement aux frontières) : de quoi parle-t-on exactement ?

La lutte contre les émissions de carbone fait appel à deux familles d’instruments : la réglementation, qui consiste à imposer des normes obligatoires lorsque cela est possible et les incitations.

Ces dernières sont jugées plus efficaces économiquement mais elles se répartissent elles-mêmes en différentes catégories : taxe carbone, permis d’émission, mécanisme d’ajustement aux frontières.

Ces notions sont souvent confondues, ce qui nuit à la compréhension des enjeux. Parmi ces enjeux, l’acceptation par les populations des différents est un aspect de plus en plus crucial.

Cet atelier interne a pour but de clarifier collectivement ces notions essentielles aux recherches futures du Policy Center et à la préparation du continent africain aux futurs débats climatiques.

Dominique Bocquet is a graduate of Sciences-Po, a graduate of history and a former student of ENA. Uri Dadush is non-resident Senior Fellow at the Policy Center for the New South, where he served as Senior Fellow from its founding in 2014 until 2022. He is Research Professor at the School of Public Policy, University of Maryland and a non-resident scholar at Bruegel. He is based in Washington, DC, and is Principal of Economic Policy International, LLC, providing consulting services to the World Bank and to other international organizations as well as corporations.
