Marieme Diop is a leading figure in African venture capital and a pioneer shaping the continent’s tech and francophone startup ecosystem. She is the Founder and Managing Partner of Leapstage Capital, the first pan-African fund dedicated to AI startups, backing transformative ventures across Africa.

Previously, Marieme led $150 million in investments at IFC (World Bank Group) and co-founded Orange Ventures Africa, a €50 million early-stage fund investing across 20+ startups. She also founded Dakar Network Angels (DNA), the first regional angel network in Francophone Africa, supporting high-growth pre-seed and seed-stage companies.

Marieme holds advanced degrees from Télécom Paris and brings over 17 years of experience driving innovation, entrepreneurship, and ecosystem development across Africa.
