Adaeze Umolu
Business Development Specialist II, CRS Sierra Leone

Adaeze Umolu is the Business Development Specialist II, for CRS Sierra Leone. She took on this role in November 2020. In her position she leads resource mobilization efforts to support CRS’ development and humanitarian work in this West African nation, with a particular focus on the sectors of Agriculture and Livelihoods, Health, Education, and Urban Resilience.  Prior to CRS, Adaeze held a similar position with Oxfam GB, where she was the Business Development Lead for Oxfam in Sierra Leone. Prior to that she was also the Technical Advisor, Business Resource Development for Management Sciences for Health (MSH) in Nigeria. Adaeze has had over a decade’s experience in the not-for-profit and development sector in Nigeria, the United Kingdom and Sierra Leone. She has cut her professional experience with diverse organizations such as the University of East London Student Union; BBC world service (now BBC media action), and the National Institute for Legislative Studies, Nigeria. Adaeze holds a master’s degree in Gender, Management and Organization from the University of Leeds, UK, and a Certificate in Systems Design and Project Leadership from the Cornell University. Adaeze is passionate about the next generation of young women, and in her role, gender issues are constantly a part of how she goes about and supports all project design she is part of.  Adaeze is married with children.
