Helmut Sorge & Rear Admiral Nuno de Noronha Bragança

During the interview, we presented a series of questions to Mr. Nuno, starting with an analysis of piracy along the African coast. We inquired about its current threat to our communities and whether containment is achievable. However, addressing the challenges of migrant movements goes beyond naval solutions, considering the immense numbers attempting to cross oceans and seas, which are challenging to restrain once initiated. While naval control represents one aspect, it's vital to acknowledge that the roots of this migration stem from onshore factors. The path to substantial resolutions involves tackling local issues that drive individuals toward such hazardous journeys. By concentrating on these underlying causes within affected regions, we can formulate comprehensive strategies that address the intricate factors fueling migration.
