Through the introduction of a systematic approach in the study of the interaction and relation of each country with the large poles of contemporary international relations (the great powers, large groups or clusters, the major regions of the world...), this course will try as much as possible to define the place and role of the Maghreb in the world today.

Objectives :

• Enhance understanding of the structure and role of the Maghreb region and its position as a regional bloc in the world;
• Exploring the relations of each of the Maghreb countries while looking for the divergences and convergences and the effects of foreign policies and relationships on the respective countries;
• mprove knowledge on the study of the international relations of a country or of a region with a power country, a group of countries or a region.

Professor Abdallah Saaf is Senior Fellow at the Policy Center for the New South, Affiliate Professor at the Faculty of Governance, Economic and Social Sciences (FGSES) of the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P), Professor Emeritus of Political Science at Mohammed V University in Rabat, and Director of the Center for Studies in Social Sciences Research (CERSS), as well as founder of the Moroccan Association of Political Science. His research focuses on political science, international relations, policies and development strategies as well as public policies. Professor Saaf was a member of the commission in charge of revising the Constitution in July 2011, and member of the Scientific Committee at the Global Forum for Humans rights.
