ERF 25th Annual Conference: Knowledge, Research Networks, and Development Policy
The Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development, Kuwait City, Kuwait
Professor Aomar IBOURK, Senior Fellow at Policy Center for the New South, and Tayeb GHAZI, Economist at Policy Center for the New South, will be speaking at the Panel on (“Trade Policy and Development”) during the ERF 25th Annual Conference on Knowledge, Research Networks, and Development Policy.
Trade and Development Policy is a timely topic in light of the significant political, social, and economic transformation currently witnessed in the region. The plenary sessions will feature world-renowned economists and thought leaders to provide valuable, thought-provoking ideas and viewpoints to take forward the region’s agenda towards economic growth and sustainable development. From a job creation point of view, the theme is as interesting since we know that the growth strategy based on domestic demand has reached its limits, and was not very job-creating, and that we must now increasingly consider the opportunities offered by international trade. A most relevant question is to know what contribution trade makes to employment, and also to know what prospects in sectors where trade is a source of employment.
